Phipps Street Burying Ground is established.

It is located at today’s 25 Phipps Street. Previous burial took place on Fort Hill. Graves include those of Thomas Beecher, Nathaniel Gorham, president of the Continental Congress, John Harvard, and soldiers who fought in King Philip’s War.
